Obed Obwoge is a Kenyan born photographer based in Brooklyn, NY.

While his passion for photography is rooted in the city’s rich history of street photography; he is also interested in portraiture and using the medium as a vehicle to create images that change the way people of color view themselves and the way they are portrayed in the media and arts. With no formal training in photography, Obed lets his eye guide him in composing images that evoke emotion and force the viewer to consider their relationship with the subject.

His images have been featured in several print and digital publications such as Essence, Wear Your Voice Mag, and Upward Magazine as well as several exhibits locally and internationally, culminating with a feature in the 2017 Indian Photography Festival in Hyderabad.

A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you the less you know.
